GROCERY COMMERCIAL MANAGER (Salary £40-50k + 15% bonus, London)

If you’re a NAM with aspirations of becoming a Head of Sales at a top FMCG Challenger Brand, looking for a high ownership role working on Top 4 Grocery accounts but with plenty still to go after, reporting into a fantastic Commercial Director (with experience across a range of top Blue chips and very successful SMEs) then this is definitely an opportunity to explore!

This profitable £10m+ innovative food brand has a good foothold in the UK and this newly created role will take on responsibility for UK grocery including Tesco, Waitrose and online as well as the chance to go after some distribution gaps – so lots to play for and have a big impact still.

You’ll be joining at a tipping point moment for them as they continue to invest in their own manufacturing and NPD and just as they’re about to roll out a huge investment in marketing. They also have an exploding international presence with things really kicking off in Europe, which makes for interesting progression diversity. Over time you will help build and lead the UK grocery team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, recommend and execute the Grocery strategy.

• Understand the retailers’ needs, their strategy and how to align/support this as well as understanding macro-trends affecting the category and wider industry.

• Build relationships within the wider matrix of key retailer contacts (beyond just buyers).

• Work cross-functionally to ensure successful S&OP process.

• Generate new business opportunities through research and proactive targeting.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Must have specific experience in a sales/commercial management role in the FMCG food/drink industry (preferably cross functional & including strategic organisation/SME).

• Able to demonstrate a track record of successfully surpassing sales targets.

• Managed a Top 4 account for 1-2 years+ (preferably Sainsburys or Tesco).

• Financially and commercially literate with good excel skills.

• Can think both strategically and operate in a 'hands on' manner.
