GROCERY COMMERCIAL MANAGER (£45-60k, central London)

A rare opportunity to own the Grocery channel for an ambitious, better-for-you snack brand who have just landed a second major top four listing and now needs a dedicated Commercial Manager to take the lead on the accounts (two top 4 + Ocado). Based in central London but with good flexible working and a results based approach, you’ll be joining a small, lean but extremely driven award winning team and amazing founder to help take this high potential brand to the next level at this exciting tipping point in their journey. A great position to prove yourself in, drive growth, and build a team around you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Total ownership of the Grocery channel growth through the management of the current two top four accounts + Ocado.
  • Build and execute strategy to deliver on aggressive commercial targets.
  • Creative pitching & negotiating a must to land value added new business accounts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed to build great relationships with relevant buying teams and to further build on credibility and trusted supplier status they work hard on maintaining with retail partners.
  • Own the reporting and forecasting process with full P&L and JBP responsibility for Grocery channel.
  • Report directly into the founder, delivering monthly sales reports and utilise available data sources to lead analysis and insights that might benefit the wider business.
  • Ensure all customer admin is completed accurately and efficiently (e.g. new line forms, promo nominations, one-pager commercial proposals – you’ll be picking up on the hands-on stuff too!)

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Must have a track record in a similar NAM/SNAM role within FMCG sales, ideally within top 4 grocery but wider national retail also considered.
  • A passionate, proactive, driven and focused professional with strong analytical skills.
  • Someone who wants to make a mark in their career and be part of the growth journey of one of the fastest growing healthy snack brands in the UK.
  • Proven experience in growing the channel YoY in your managed accounts.
  • No room for ego! They’re a small ‘team player’ style company, recognising everyone’s strengths towards delivering a common goal.
  • Passionate about working in a startup company and understanding of the realities and challenges.
  • Can-do / all-hands-on-deck style attitude.
  • Be able to own your channel and show ability to grow with the business, lead recruitment and build out a team under you in the future.
