SALES MANAGER – ON & OFF TRADE (£40-50k, London / home-based)

A rare opportunity to join an ultra-cool, early stage RTD drinks brand with ambitions to redefine the one of the fastest growing segments in the FMCG alcohol sector. Expect an emphasis on high-quality, natural ingredients mixed with award winning spirits. The carefully crafted mixes are targeted at a cultured palate with a not-too-sweet flavour profile supported by a unique, fun yet sophisticated aesthetic and brand with standout packaging and look & feel and a marketing strategy driven by experiential and lifestyle that sets it apart from other food and drinks brands. The brand is based in central London but as long as you can get to London easily/regularly this role can be home based as it will be heavily customer facing.

Big plans to become a nationally recognized brand so could you be the entrepreneurial sales star to take this early stage startup to the next level and all the way? If you have a track record of new business success, winning new listings and driving sales in both the On and Off Trades, then this could be a great business to make your mark in and fully own, dictate and deliver the sales strategy. Ultimately this brand is designed for retail so the vision is big, but the first task will be to build the brand in the on-trade, independents and smaller retail, with the goal of building the story and awareness (as well as revenues of course!) and working towards national grocery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the brand out in the field. Identify and win new sales accounts to meet sales targets.
  • Identify growth opportunities and generate new business through prospecting to grow your account base.
  • Develop an understanding of the market and the category to ensure value added sales arguments.
  • Work closely with the founder to build a strategy and execute targeting both the on and off trade.
  • Support new product launches.
  • Implement / arrange training for staff at key accounts.
  • Drive new business and manage current premium on and off trade account listings.
  • Leading on-the-ground sales and marketing initiatives to drive growth and build the rate of sale.
  • Manage sampling and event activity nationwide.
  • Responsible for customer P&L management and sales forecasts.
  • Supporting key customer JBP negotiations.
  • Inputting into Quarterly Business Planning process and regular reporting to management and investors.

 

Key Skills & Experience

  • Educated to at least degree level, or equivalent, with specific experience in a sales/commercial management role in the food/drink industry (preferably cross functional & strategic organisation/SME).
  • Have a minimum of 3 years previous sales experience within the drinks/FMCG industry
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of successfully surpassing sales targets.
  • Financially and commercially literate with good Excel and Powerpoint skills.
  • Can think both strategically and operate in a 'hands on' manner.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to win business and demonstrate understanding of what impacts the sales margin.
  • Positive attitude with lots of energy.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Resilience and determination.
