Launching an online supermarket has always been a goal for us at Young Foodies. Granted, we did not think it would be happening quite this soon. Until (very) recently, the idea of an e-commerce site was more of a pipedream than a reality, one we imagined would not come to fruition for several years.

Then came COVID-19. With the industry as we knew it plunged into uncertainty, we saw immense challenges arrive on the doorsteps of our brands overnight.

We knew the potential damage that the loss of key revenue channels like cafes, office blocks and the travel sector would have on those businesses. We had also heard that the government’s COVID-19 support would not apply to everybody – in fact, far from it – leaving many of our brands at risk of losing everything. As a firm believer in and staunch ally to those businesses, we wanted to do everything we could to help them get through this.

So, we set about looking at how we could launch our online supermarket. A little over three weeks later, we could not be more excited to announce the launch of Mighty Small. This online platform has truly been a labour of love for us, requiring many late nights, early mornings, brainstorms, Zoom meetings and a lot of learning on our feet. And we could not have done it without the support of our brands. The sheer breadth of amazing, delicious products created by independent businesses will be what drives shoppers to visit and revisit Mighty Small, ultimately driving its success. Today, the site is home to everything from kombuchas and coffee pods to snacks, pet food and home baking kits. For a list of our launch brands, please see the list at the bottom of this page.

We would love to hear from brands that would like to be a part of Mighty Small. We have already received lots of enquiries, but will be prioritising our Community members when extending our range in the coming months. If you would like to discuss working with us, please drop the team a line at: https://mighty-small.co.uk/pages/supply-us

For now, we would like to thank all of you that have supported the Mighty Small project throughout the past few weeks. From joining the site to sending kind words of support and enthusiasm, our Community has shown us that we really are all in this together, and how much stronger we are a group than as individuals. Thank you, and happy shopping.
